Sisters of Battle revamp (part 1)

I am in the (very slow) process of revamping my venerable Sisters of Battle army, both in terms of army composition and in the paint scheme as my ability has progressed since I first painted it. I will be putting up various pictures of bits and bobs of it as I do them. In this article, I will show the new colour scheme I am experimenting with for the Rhinos.

The original colour scheme was burgundy with white flashes and antique gold fittings (mainly chaos bits to give the whole thing a more baroque feel). They all have SoB themed doors and fronts - some the old Forgeworld ones, others the new GW ones after they finally did a proper Immolator and Exorcist. The problem was that the various shades of burgundy didn't quite match as they were painted at different times, with different undercoats and paints from different manufacturers. Plus they looked a bit dull. Having started to re-do my sisters with shaded robes and a flame pattern at the bottom (I'll show those in the next article), I decided to do the Rhino's in a matching scheme - black bodies (with some distressing at the edges) with flames around the bottoms. The picture attached is the first cut of a prototype paint scheme which I knocked up in 45 minutes last night (so it needs a bit of finishing work).
