After their victorious rampage last week, some quick pictures of the parts of my 15mm Ottoman army that I painted the week before while on holiday. Unfortunately no pictures of the Serbs, who actually won the battle - they will follow when I have some decent figures for them. Here though are pictures of the sipahis and the akinjis, if only to whet Dave's appetite in Florida.
First the sipahis - Irr Cv(O) in DBMM, mounted 3 to a 40mm wide base. They are good for driving off enemy light cavalry, skirmishing with the front of enemy heavy infantry and not really a whole lot else. I am currently taking the minimum 9 elements of them in the army.

Secondly the akinjis - Irr LH(F) in DBMM, mounted 2 to a 40mm wide base. They are good at skirmishing on the flanks but need to beware of contact with most things unless they can swarm them. Historically appropriate since they were regarded as wretched scum by most contemporaries. Get them into the enemy baggage though, or into the rear of his main line... Again I am taking the minimum 10 elements in the army - a few LH(F) are great, too many are a liability.
