I have a bunch of Gripping Beast arab/andalusian 28mm figures that I have had knocking around, badly painted for a while. At point point I bought them for a role-playing campaign that died a death. I thought of turning them into a WAB arab army but was put off by the bumber of extra figures that I would need. I then based them up for DBM but andalusian seems a fairly rubbish army and I don't expect it to get much better under DBMM. Then the other day I was flicking through Beyond the Golden Gate (the Byzantine WAB sourcebook) and realised that this had some more interesting and varied arabic armies in it as well.
Thus the latest of my strange projects is born, a quick repaint and rebase of my Andalusians to become wither an Aglahbid or later Abbasid army, with the possibility of fighting Dave's WAB Normans in an almost historical match-up. I will add pictures to the main part of this article as I start converting units.
